PneumaticEye:
Der Roboter ist ausgerüstet mit 5 Motoren, 2 mikromotorgesteuerte
Pneumatikventile, 2 große Pneumatikzylinder, 1 kleiner
Pneumatikzylinder, 4 kleine Pneumatikpumpen (4-fach Kompressor,

Description:
Elements: Motors 5, pneumatic valves: 2; large pneumatic cylinders: 2;
small pneumatic cylinders: 1; small pumps: 4; air tank:1; rotation
sensors: 2; touch sensors: 2; Camera: 1 and a view of other bricks and
elements
Special Equipment: LED-bricks, output expander brick.
The PneumaticEye is made of modern robot techniques. It is a toy, but a
real high-tech-toy: with the help of the LEGO Vision Command camera you
can see what’s going on, nearly everywhere. PneumaticEye can move into
very tall places (for example tubes, subways, or all the corners with
dangerous stuff) where men can’t or don’t want to intrude or explore
even inaccessible environments. It can grip, take objects and bring
them to you.
The robot got a few homebrew devices such as LED-bricks and an especial
output expander. It’s able to control 5 full featured output ports .
The fifth output port (B) switches from port A/C to A1/C1 and may be
used for further things . The output expander is powered by a small
relay, bistable, 4 x changeover. Power is needed only in the beginning
to switch over. The expander is placed in a LEGO duplo brick. By using
this port expander there’s no need to use a second RCX-brick.
The low-current white LED-bricks provide light to the robot. Further
the red/green LED-bricks provide more light while the robot moves and
direction is indicated by the two different colors.
The Pneumatic Valves are controlled by MindStorms rotation sensors and
MindStorms touch sensors.
The robot is controlled by a visual basic program ore IR.
The construction is strongly compact: by the use of pneumatic elements
you can save a second power motor. Due to the pneumatic elements one
power motor can grip and lift objects, even keep them without using the
motor any more. For this reason PneumaticEye is powerful, but also tall
and light.
